Today I messed something really up, but I will not tell you what, because I still have to take care of waisting my day a little more… A was on the road with some other people today, just like I’ve been yesterday (actually I am at an American Express Congress in Manchester) and they didn’t stop complaining about everything… One moment I was getting really frustated, not because of them bothering me with their crappie sentiments and feelings, but just because no one was complaining about the bad weather, nor about Tony Blair.
I started feeling like Kate in her best days and grabbed my mobilphone to have a look for the number of a dealer. Thinking of where day were doing their buiseness, I suddenly realised I was in Manchester and didn’t knew anyone over there, except some weirdos from American Express I had to spent my last, and the next, days with. Luckily they are all part of this lovely upper-middleclass social class and definetly all do C and a lot more. It all became very hard for me, I started struggling morally. OK, we are living in 2005, where everyone does Charlie (The Daily Times, 26.05.2005, or around that date), but is it appropriate at an American Express Congress to order, ask someone for a little (or more also) line of Charlie ? No definetly not I thought. So I started considering having a drink… no one should have problem with genuine alcoholics, who prefer ordering a double Tanqueray Export-Tonic at 10.24 in the morning. So I started looking around for a waiter, but couldn’t find one. Under the excuse of going to wash my hands, I went out and bought… The Independent, a newspaper…
At lunchtime I had really forgotten my desire, because I was reading the news, a weird habit of me, reading newspapers and eating at the same time. But I will never stop doing it… The further day went on, just like it started but I discovered the Sudoku puzzles in the newspaper, after having it read from the end till the beginning, anothert of my stupi habits. Later on I was filling in Sudokus online with my nice company notebook. I think I missed most of the speakers today, just as much as I missed my line or my GT. But I only realised I hadn’t any of both, once I left the Congress for an aftrework-drink. But what I did… Yes, I got an alcoholfree Colada and went to the hotel. Damn, I messed up my whole illegal day, being a boring and stupid Belgian bloke.
