iMissed The Hype, Vent Once More

April 17th, 2007 by Franky · No Shared Ignorance Wisdom // Permalink

I have been sleeping once more. Again days have passed without an open feed reader. And again iMissed the hype or was it a vent?

Since years Google now has been shifting traffic and making not known sites popular and that mainly due to always better SERPs.
Every experienced SEO has had to change his techniques over the years, because the Google algorithm scared everyone, but what wasn’t prohibited was allowed.

Why not run 7 mirroring urls in the background, 14 sets of different mod_rewrite rules in your .htaccess file and 4 cloaking portals.
We’ve seen it all, many and I have done it, but today all those tricks are punished.

More even, nowadays Google rolls out new rule sets or since months claims (bluffs?) that your PageRank and TrustRank might suffer if you don’t disclose.
Here’s some advice for all you on paid links depending, to survive and keep your studio up and running, SEO specialists : Suck it up, if you’re not ready to disclose you shouldn’t preach blogging disclosure either.

Will your Page Rank or Trust Rank suffer? No, they won’t but accept that other, correctly disclosing sites will rank higher in SERPs.
98% Of SEO still is smart cheating anyway, so who cares? Of course I do understand that i feels bad to lose, but why not become a great SEOer by complying with rules?
Here’s a little secret for you : I have never read any of the most respected SEOs (and am too lazy to link to them either, maybe I should use rel=”nofollow” because can a SEO specialist really be trusted?), nor have I ever tried to cloak, build my reputation somewhere and whore myself out just by circular interlinking1.

Nope, they only thing I ever did was easy. Read what The Boss, Google, tells you to do, and you’ll be rewarded appropriately.
Sometimes you might have to ditch in some more energy though.

Dearest Matt2,
I have already called out for this before, but the solution to your problem is simple. Offer us rel=”commercial” and feel free to blacklist every PPP alike service if the don’t require disclosure in the entry. Continue to reward webmasters who follow the rules set with a high Trust Rank and anyone who doesn’t (light grey, darker ones and fun people) will automatically be declassified.

Can’t be that hard is it? ;-)

1 I remember having left a comment about linkbait, but obviously it got deleted. :D
2 I still offer you the benefit of the doubt and don’t tag you with rel=”nofollow” yet. ;-)
NOTE TO SELF Implement more high rated outgoing links next time to built TR. :D

  1. Scared? Scared to comment?
Come on, you can do better than that. No need to ask your mother if you are allowed to comment. ;-)
