The good news… after a marathon of illness1, seminars, congresses and a whole slew of live soccer-blogging… I’m back23.
The bad news… Leopard has been announced, scheduled and it looks great!
But no MacBook Pro update has been announced. So now I’m looking at getting a MacBook to start as a switcher4.

We’ll make a fanboy of you yet Franky.
Glad you’re feeling better, and hope that this untrammelled Mac worship isn’t just the remains of your fever talking :P

Michael, still looking forward to permanently synchronize around 4GB on 3 puters. :P
Yes, MacBook is glossy too, but it’s not a friggin’ 20″/24″ that poking your eyes out with the reflexion of yourself!

Lol, true, very true.
Can’t wait for Leopard to rape my RAM and drive me to the back alley memory merchant

Anyways, even if macbooks fry your balls, those iMacs are a right pisser to balance on your lap at Starbucks

Really? You’re getting a MacBook? Not the Pro?
Hmm. :(

Poppy, yes and because of several reasons.
First, I’m a switcher with really hardcore Windows knowledge (heck I was MVP for MS Germany), this meaning I’ll bitch lots at things in Windows/Vista I love (synchronization without .Mac account)
Second, I’m not into video (yet), so there’s no reason to make the switch between 2.16 and 2.4Ghz, both with 2GB memory. The graphic card won’t really make a difference to me as I run faster ones on my desktop, even server.
Last but not least, I’ll get a MacPro when I really fall in love with Mac and a MBP the day the update. Last I’d want to experience is have a powerful engine which runs sluggish with the newest OS.

Fair enough. I have a year old MBP and I hate it. :) (Actually, maybe it’s 2 now. Hmm.)

Did you already install Leopard?

No, getting it this week. I’m not looking forward to the switch. I’ll probably have to reformat. :-/

Format? On a Mac?!?!?! :P
Haven’t read anyone complaining about the upgrade procedure. Then again, OS X’s need of ‘not needing to defrag’ surely screws up quite some I guess.
I’m rather pissed that they pulled Time Machine over wireless networks (AEBS). Hopefully notmac will solve that problem soon, because if there’s no synchro option without .Mac I’m bound not to like mac at all. I <3 some synchro (which Time Machine surely can be hacked or at least used for over shared drives) and my Windows 2003 file server will no way be replaced by X Server. It will take me ages before I know how to set up X Server the way my 2k3 is set up!!!

Hmm. I refuse to read because I am illiterate. Did they pull it because they couldn’t figure out how to get it working? I have a 500GB myBook, and I’m pissed that it can’t sync files larger than 1GB, so I was already disappointed.

Will Apple ever admit why they pulled something?

No, they never do that. Ever.
