But wait… Apple’s approach even on the Web — as clearly demonstrated with iTunes — is largely proprietary. The company hasn’t made a huge effort to open up applications and development.
I hate the crash-a-minute PC lifestyle as much as anybody, but can’t we have it both ways? I want a stable, easy-to-use elegant computing platform that doesn’t crash but also isn’t captive to somebody’s locked-up proprietary world. I want to use the damn thing cause it’s useful, not just to make some guy in a turtleneck rich.
